SELF-ACTUATING SYSTEMS

Self-Actuating Systems are pre-engineered to monitor a particular hazard without need of human interaction. They discharge when a fusible link within the unit, preset for a specific temperature range, melts. These units do not need to interact with an alarm system, though they are capable of sounding an alarm when they discharge. They are the optimal choice in non-habitable or confined spaces, which have potentially fire causing equipment.
 
They are also excellent when there is a need to supply fire lighting protection where human use of a hand portable fire extinguisher is not desirable. They may be complete flooding units or spot protecting streaming units. Many are UL approved and classified the same way as hand portable units.
